Welcome back to the Summer Term....

Class 4 have had a great first couple of weeks of the  and are already demonstrating a love of learning that is great to see!

We are all looking forward to the new term and have already enjoyed a fun day on the first Tuesday back when the children were invited to bring their robotic or remote controlled toys/games to investigate along with class programmable robots. We are planning a technology day in the coming weeks, and Year 6 will be hosting a class party at the end of SATs.

This term our topic is ‘Who is in Control?’ This is a technology based topic that will consider electricity, sound and light in science, newspaper reports, film reviews and explanation texts in English and the work of Anthony Gormley and the impact of giant sculpture in human form in Design Tech.

If you are able in any way to support our topic over the coming weeks, either through experience of the subject or with books or information, all or any would be gratefully received. Of course the children will also continue to benefit from your support with reading, learning spellings and times tables, and with My Maths at home, all of which remain a high priority and really do help the children in class. Homework will be given out each Friday to be returned the following Friday.

PE will, as usual, be taught on Mondays so your reminding the children to bring full kit would be a great help! Swimming starts after May half term; further details to follow.

Music for Year 5 this half term will be taught by a member of Brannel Staff and will involve the opportunity to learn the flute; the end of school production will allow all children the opportunity for singing and performing and is something the class is looking forward to hugely!

We will be organising an open afternoon for parents and carers to come into class and celebrate what the children have been doing later in the term, in the meantime, feel free to call in if at any time you feel need to.

Again, thank you for your continued support.
