Class 2 Teacher
SPRING TERM 2022
Hello Class 2, and welcome back to the Spring term!
We hope you have had a really wonderful Christmas break and are ready for all of the fun and learning we have planned for you!
Our topic this term is "Amazing Authors". Our learning in the first half term will be based around books by modern author, Oliver Jeffers, and in the second half term on books by classic author, Beatrix Potter. To launch our topic in style, we’d like to invite children to come to school on Monday 10th January, dressed as a character from any Oliver Jeffers book. This could be as simple as black and white clothing for the penguin in “Lost and Found” or as ambitious as an alien (from “The Way Back Home”) or a giant crayon (from “The Day the Crayons Quit”)!
Our PE day this term will continue to be on a Thursday, so please remember to come to school in sports kit on this day. We will have weekly Maths homework and spellings (uploaded on Google Classroom on Fridays). There is also a termly topic grid - please try to complete one piece of topic homework each week. It is also very important that children read at home every day - reading is the key to all learning; books should be read twice before being returned to school. Year 2 children should also continue to work on their 2, 5 and 10 times tables - little and often is best!
Please remember to bring a water bottle (containing water only) to keep on your table in addition to any drink you bring for lunch. We will provide a healthy snack at break time. As the weather continues to be cold and wet, please also remember to bring a coat every day so that we can get outside as much as possible.
If you have any questions, please feel free to get in contact.
Thank you for your continued support.
